MARCO ZAIA

“He is not the rose, but he lived with the rose.”

Oriental saying

I never thought of doing anything but dealing with antiquities.

As a child I dreamed of adventures to discover lost civilizations and their treasures, so when the time came to choose my path I had no doubts and immediately directed my studies in the field of visual and applied arts.

Realizing that skills are acquired through direct contact with objects, I began from the time of my high school studies a path of assimilation of the techniques of working with the main materials convinced that the study, recognition and appreciation of the work of art are aimed at its preservation and transmission to the future. I then honed a special sensibility by becoming a restorer and also obtaining the label of “excellent craftsmanship.”

My vocation and experience allowed me as early as 2005 to be enrolled on the roll of experts and appraisers, and later on the roll of technical consultants of the Court of Asti for both civil and criminal proceedings. You can view the areas of expertise at the link: CTU Search

Since 2008, I have been serving full-time as an appraiser and consultant operating in complete confidentiality.

I still consolidate my education by participating in seminars, conferences and specialized courses for in-depth cultural, technical and scientific updating.

I believe that feedback of one’s competence and knowledge can only come through frequenting the Italian and foreign markets: antiquarians, galleries, auction houses, exhibitions and fairs. Thus, I also have the opportunity to confront on a daily basis the world of collecting where trends or interests aimed at objects considered marginal emerge.
